The 5 Telltale Signs Of Heat Damage

By |January 27th, 2015|Curls|3 Comments

(This picture is from 2009 when I had terrible heat damage)

I am featuring this article from Naturallycurly.com
Naturallycurly.com is one of my favorite curly blogs and this particular article touched my soul, only because I used to be one of those girls with heat damage.

Product Line Review on Lottabody Products

By |January 6th, 2015|Curls|3 Comments

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year my Curlies !
*Updated Post with ingredients listed* — sorry everyone who asked! Scroll to the end for ingredients

I am so delayed on this product review! It seemed like every time I went to write, something would pull me away. The holidays were crazy. Anyway, I would like to start by saying that I have really enjoyed the rebranding that Lottabody has done. The new product design and updated logo has really given this product a more updated, modern, and fresh look. The packaging is very attractive to the eye. I also noticed that the name “lotta and body” are stacked and color is added. The “o” in lotta contains a heart now whereas it didn’t before. It also seemed like Lottabody has had a formula change. This formula caters to the natural community because of the natural products such as coconut and shea oils added.

Product Line Review on Hair Yum™ Hair Products

By |December 14th, 2014|Curls|2 Comments

First and foremost, I would like to say that the name of the company—”Hair Yum” is so adorable and cute sounding. Just the name alone made me curious about if I could achieve “yummy hair.” I appreciate the fact that it came with a brochure to better understand more about the company. Another beautiful thing about Hair Yum is that the products are vegan. I really feel like what I am putting into my hair is healthy because of the fact that it is vegan. As of lately, I have been more conscious about what I have been putting in my hair and reading labels. I use more natural hair products and body products, and both my skin and hair are thanking me.  One day I would like to incorporate the vegan lifestyle into my eating regimen but for now it is just my hair.

Product Line Review on Tré Luxe Products

By |December 3rd, 2014|Curls, Uncategorized|2 Comments

I feel like I am on this quest for the perfect products that work the best for my hair. Unfortunately, on this mission, I have hit many bumps in the road and have been called many names—such as product junkie, curl product pusher, etcetera (Just kidding no one called me any of that). I do, however, feel as though I am learning so much about my hair likes and dislikes through this journey.
If you are a new visitor to my blog, here are a few quick notes about my hair:

It is very dry, especially in the winter
It was once heat damaged and I haven’t used heat since December 31, 2013
I have low porosity hair
Texture: Fine
Hair Type: 3b, 3c patch in the back

Big Hair, Yes I Care!

By |November 10th, 2014|Curls|1 Comment

*This Blog Post was featured on Curls Au Naturel ‘s blog*
The topic of the day is big hair. Yes, I am talking about large, voluptuous, massive, colossal hair. Let’s be honest, big hair turns heads and adds a diva-ish style to your look. Large hair is just plain ol’ fabulous. The downfalls to big hair is that it can blocks people out of pictures, make cuddling time with your significant other difficult, and make it hard for people behind you at concerts to be able to see. It is so worth it and makes a statement.
“Unfortunately, there is no magic pill or vitamin to make hair thicker. Some claim that biotin has made hair thicker, but that is not a proven thing.”

It’s Product Review Time…Again!

Product Reviews on HelloCurlies™ Hair Products
Hey everyone!

Today, I am sharing with you my experience with HelloCurlies™products. During this washday, I used the Hello Tight Curly Leave In Conditioner, the Hello Coily Curlicue Custard, and the Hello Coily Buttermilk Moisturizer.  The two products that I did not try during this product review are the Hello Curly Fluffy Soft Styler and the Hello Tight Curly Soft Defining Gel (I will try those next washday). I usually like to have fluffy curls in the summer time. Even though I do not have type 4 or coily hair, I still used the Hello Coily products because I wanted the extra moisture and the definition.

My Natural Hair Wish List

By |September 18th, 2014|Curls, Uncategorized|7 Comments

I want!
Since my blog is all about hair, I decided to make an Amazon wish list of some products I have had my eye on for some time. Though my wash and go hair care routine in general is pretty much the same for the most part – just a sulfate-free shampoo, deep conditioner, a leave in conditioner, and an oil like jojoba, tea tree, or coconut oil. Styling follows after those steps. I am still constantly on the look out for better and cleaner hair care products and the brands that will give me better hair days for longer times. These need to be in my bathroom…ASAP
